Virginia Costa
Pleasance currently exhibits paintings by contemporary artist Virginia Costa.
With an interest in art history, colour pencils and art in general it was only in 2003 that she started painting, now painting for at least 10 hours a day .
Born in Barretos, São Paulo, Brazil, she has had five solo exhibitions in São José dos Campos,SP and when she was selected to take part in the Second Contemporary Art Salon of the Cassiano Ricardo Foundation she knew she had made the right choice.
In September 2006 she finished the series of paintings depicting her last trip to England and Bahia. One of these paintings can be seen at the newly refurbished London Transport Museum.
Her paintings are bright, vivid and rich in details. They reflect her straight and down to earth personality.
