Young Pleasance

The Death of Chatterton

Young Pleasance is Sweet 16. Get Involved!

Teechers 2011This year Young Pleasance will be staging a new comedy; The Death of Chatterton. Inspired by the famous 1856 painting, the play is about celebrity, vanity, truth and deception. A topic as revelant now as it was 200 years ago.

Each year Young Pleasance casts creative, dynamic and talented young people, with or without performance experience, for involvement in productions staged at Pleasance Islington or at our other home, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Young Pleasance enjoyed a dynamically successful 2011 including our first international tour to Salzburg were we created a site-specific performance project at the Schloss Leopoldskron for the inaugural New Year’s Eve Reinhardt ball. We also had another successful run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a new ensemble production of John Godber’s Teechers playing to sell-out crowds with much critical acclaim.

Check out some fantastic photographs of Young Pleasance in action in both Teechers and Salzburg.
