Pleasance & Waverley Care
A unique charitable partnership
25 years together
Since 1992 the Pleasance Theatre Trust has been a proud supporter of Scotland’s leading HIV and Hepatitis C charity, Waverley Care. Every year, Waverley Care’s brilliant team of volunteers can be found collecting donations throughout the Pleasance and our annual comedy benefit - The Tartan Ribbon - has become a staple of the Fringe calendar.
2016 marks the 25th anniversary of this unique partnership.
Through the generous support of the Fringe-going public, we have raised more than £375,000 over a quarter of a century to help deliver life-changing services to people living with HIV or Hepatitis C in Edinburgh and throughout Scotland. The partnership has also helped to raise awareness and challenge some of the stigma that surrounds HIV and Hepatitis C. However, there is still much more that can be done.
Every day throughout August you will find Waverley Care’s team of collectors taking donations at the Pleasance Courtyard.
Across the city you’ll also see our special anniversary logo, celebrating 25 years together.
This year’s Tartan Ribbon Comedy Benefit on Tuesday 16th August, features a stellar line up, including Stuart Goldsmith, Mark Watson, Russell Howard, James Acaster, Lucy Porter, Adam Kay, Rachel Parris and Larry Dean. Tickets are only £12, with all profits going to Waverley Care. Get yours before they sell out here.
Please give generously and wear a tartan ribbon with pride, as we do.
