The Pleasance Theatre Trust seeks to recruit a passionate General Manager to champion the operation at Pleasance London.
The London General Manager will ensure the theatre operates to a high standard at all times - from the quality of customer service provided to the standard of facilities within the premises.
The General Manager directly manages the Technical and Guest Services departments (Box Office, Front of House and Bar), but acts as a conduit between all departments - including, finance, programming and marketing. They take responsibility for ensuring that clear communication is maintained throughout the organisation as a whole and that all team members have the information and support required to deliver their roles.
The ideal candidate will have a mix of operational and administrative experience, with the ability to develop and run services within the building. With responsibilities that incorporate recruitment and training, some experience of organisational HR is beneficial.
Above all, the General Manager will be driven, highly personable and obtain an unrelenting can-do attitude. They will strive to encourage a culture of support and encouragement, and take pride in providing the best possible experience to audiences, performing companies and staff alike.
Regarding Pleasance Edinburgh:
The Pleasance’s operation at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is managed from Pleasance London, with the majority of staff having dual responsibilities in both operations and relocating to Edinburgh during July and August. The General Manager’s remit is predominantly to the London Theatre, however if required they may on occasion be asked to undertake duties relating to Edinburgh.
