Marketing Manager

Job description

Salary: £25,000

Posted: 03/10/2018

Closing date: 04/11/2018

The Pleasance Theatre Trust aims to recruit a highly motivated Marketing Manager to take a leading role in bringing the organisation, its programme, productions and initiatives to the largest possible audience.

The Marketing Manager will be a passionate advocate for the Pleasance’s programme, which includes the best new artists and renowned established acts in Comedy, Theatre and Children’s shows, and be driven to leave no ticket unsold.

Leading a 3-person department, the Marketing Manager is responsible for all elements of the Pleasance’s marketing, both year-round in London and in Edinburgh during the Festival Fringe. Their responsibilities are many and varied, but primarily encompass destination marketing, production marketing and providing support to incoming performing companies.

The Marketing Manager will have a detailed understanding of digital marketing, social media and online advertising, utilising these resources to drive sales in a cost-effective manner and compliment more traditional offline marketing practices.

The right candidate will have proven experience working in a fast-paced arts organisation, developing creative campaigns and implement effective local and national marketing strategies, particularly related to the promotion of the performing arts, theatres and festivals. As well as experience in creating long term audience development plans, they should possess the skills to deliver quick and effective marketing solutions to combat the ever-changing demands of the theatre and its productions.

Working in a very busy environment - the Marketing Manager should be able to clearly communicate tasks and maintain an acute eye for detail at all times. They are at once strategic and responsive, and will balance these often-competing demands on a regular basis.

Above all, the Marketing Manager will undertake their work with unrelenting energy, passion and most importantly a good humour – inspiring audiences and those around them as a result.
