Technical Manager

Job description

Salary: £26,000

Posted: 26/11/2019

Closing date: 18/12/2019

The Pleasance Theatre Trust seeks to recruit a driven Technical Manager to lead the 3 person technical team at Pleasance London.

As a predominantly receiving house, the theatre’s busy programme of work is presented simultaneously across 3 performance spaces; the MainHouse (250 seats), Downstairs (80 seats) and the Stage Space (54 seats).

The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar sized establishment in a leadership capacity - with experience in production management and a well rounded knowledge of technical theatre. They will understand how to facilitate the requirements of a diverse range of productions - equipping and managing the theatre to provide them with the best possible experience. They will work to ensure that operational and financial efficiencies are maintained alongside safe working practices by both the in-house team and performing companies.

Equally important is the ability to maintain a culture of communication and support within the department, with shared ownership over the theatre and a can-do attitude. The Technical Manager will manage their time on rotation with the Senior Venue Technician and Venue Technician, balancing show calls and administration.
