Trees with Roots
Inspired by Malcolm X's journey to self-empowerment and my recent name change, X is a piece about identity. The stories we tell ourselves, the stories that have been told about us and the importance of reclaiming our own story. What happens when that name is taken from you and you are given a new name?
In this extract, Gabriel, is lost and searching for answers when he is met by a mysterious force that guides him.
