Step into the participatory playground of This Play is a Dildo.

Follow a parent-for-hire (nanny) and partner-for-hire (sex worker) on a sweaty, messy, joyous quest for lost queer and sex worker stories, family, and a future worth fighting for.

Expect audience hijinks, collapsing timelines, a dildo (or five), and absolutely no polite distance between you and the story.

Blurring theatre, film, and interactive play, This Play is a Dildo is a sweaty, anarchic reclamation of queer and sex worker voices — no pity, no tragedy, and absolutely no f*cking Sean Baker and NO Cate Blanchett.

Work In Progress.
Futures Festival is a Pay What You Can Event, with 100% of the box office going directly towards supporting the artists and the work you see on stage. We invite you to consider what you might typically spend on a show, and choose the highest tier you feel comfortable with - every pound helps us champion new voices and bold ideas.

This show is part of Futures Festival, a work-in-process festival curated by Pleasance Associate Artists. Each artist presents a week of work around a theme relevant to them and the work they are making.

This show is part of the week The Future Is LIVE curated by Jonathan Oldfield and Lorna Rose-Treen. A week of shows that celebrate the live-ness of theatre.
