A message from the Pleasance

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is with great sadness that we have taken the difficult decision to temporarily close Pleasance London and suspend planning for our 2020 Edinburgh Festival Fringe season. As a result, all performances have been suspended.

This is devastating news for a great many people. However, in light of the current risk to public health, and so much uncertainty about future risk, we firmly believe there is no current alternative.

The impact of this crisis is a very grave threat to the future of the Pleasance Theatre Trust, the artists we support and the people that work here. The Pleasance is a charitable, not-for-profit organisation and we receive no regular government subsidy, with the significant majority of our funding coming from ticket sales.

To carry on, we need your help. Whether through a future visit or any donation - large or small - we are grateful for your continued support.

In the future, when restrictions are lifted and life returns to some kind of normality, we will hopefully reopen, rebuild and once again capture that undefinable Fringe spirit that embodies all those that perform with us, work with us and visit us. Our London theatre’s doors will open as soon as we’re able and we will return to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe galvanised within a renewed purpose, be that in 2020 or 2021.

Until then, take care, be well and thank you for all of your support.

Any donation value is welcome, please feel free to edit the £5.00 default shown above.
