Blending audio drama, podcast culture and live performance, Scenes Where Flowers Should Be, dives beneath the reality of True Crime and pushes the limits of how far true stories should be manipulated, reconstructed and sold for our entertainment.
This is the first Work in Progress of Emma-Louise Howell's brand new show following her critically acclaimed Edinburgh National Partnerships show 'I Really Do Think This Will Change Your Life'.
Praise for Emma's previous work:
'One of our undoubted stars of the future' ★★★★★ Broadway Baby
'Rattling, rollicking writing' ★★★★ Scotsman
'Unlike anything we've seen before' ★★★★ Broadway World

Futures Festival is a Pay What You Can Event, with 100% of the box office going directly towards supporting the artists and the work you see on stage. We invite you to consider what you might typically spend on a show, and choose the highest tier you feel comfortable with - every pound helps us champion new voices and bold ideas.
Each year Pleasance commits to supporting six London based theatre makers/writers for a two year residency as our Associate Artists, providing them with the transformative tools to take their work and craft to the next level. We asked them to curate a festival based around themes of their choosing. Futures Festival is the result!
Futures Festival showcases developing productions from leading independent performance makers and companies.
This show is part of Week 2, The Future Is Fabricated presented by Maybe You Like It .
A week of performance exploring invention, deception, and the art of spinning a good yarn. These works ask why we lie, what makes us believe, and who gets hurt when truth is bent, blurred, or broken.
