Bridges Festival

This year marks Pleasance’s first year of Bridges Festival, a mentoring and creative support programme for new writing. The programme means that Pleasance can meaningfully develop the work of four of the best writers from Pleasance Scratch Nights. 

We have chosen 4 writers to help develop their 10-15min excerpts into 45mins - 1hr productions or another piece of their choosing:

Four Losers at the End of World (and Betty!) by Sophie Stemmons

What you will receive: 

• Tailored mentorship with the development producer and newly recruited Associate Producer 
• £700 Seed Funding to cover your time developing the script or to invest in the production of your showing 
• In-kind rehearsal and performance space 
• Marketing Support from our in-house marketing team for the mini-festival
• Free workshops and talks with writers and other creatives that will help you develop your craft
• Introductions to the industry and producers 
• Potential of a contribution fee towards production costs for the festival - funding dependant 
• Shared learning, peer exchange, and networking opportunities.  
• Your showing co-produced with the Pleasance
• In-kind technical support for the mini-festival
