This year marks Pleasance’s first year of Bridges Festival, a mentoring and creative support programme for new writing. The programme means that Pleasance can meaningfully develop the work of four of the best writers from Pleasance Scratch Nights.

We have chosen 4 writers to help develop their 10-15min excerpts into 45mins - 1hr productions or another piece of their choosing.

By 17, she was pregnant.

Watch Productions presents…

I F**ing Love Football, Me

A raw, entertaining and emotionally honest one-man show about love, loss and growing up. George, a South London bloke in his twenties, is battling to return to his better self after a traumatic experience almost a decade ago.

Through audience interaction, humour and a huge amount of heart, George finally finds the courage to talk about something he’s buried for years.

Developed with insight from Sands, one of the UK’s leading baby loss charities.

Written and performed by BIFA-nominated actor, writer and director Gus Flind-Henry, and directed by his long-time creative partner George Malcher.

The pair’s debut short film A Sisyphean Task, starring Leah Balmforth and Hugh Bonneville, was nominated for Best British Short Film at the BIFA Awards last year and qualified for both the Oscars and BAFTAs.

The award winning duo are now bringing their work into theatre, alongside a growing slate of original Film and TV projects.

Written & Performed by: Gus Flind-Henry
Directed by: George Malcher

‘A Sisyphean Task is as current and vital as a film can get. It earns itself essential viewing status for its approach to deconstructing a sensitive topic. ★★★★★ Take2Indie

‘...a 17-minute masterclass in visual storytelling.’ Rhode Island International Film Festival

‘I've seen some stellar films from first timers... this one is right at the top.’ Bond on Film)
